Welcome to Mr. Marlatt's class!!!
HAVE A GREAT SUMMER!!!
*The students are required to bring with them to English class their planners, reading books, and a writing utenzil.
*Please see powerschool for specific homework and assignment information.
Reading:
*In reading we are beginning our second semester research project, and we are continuing our focus on reading fluency through reader's theatre activities and practicing before, during, and after reading strategies as we continue our journey towards the improvement of comprehension and fluency in the reading and writing about non-fiction texts.
*The students are required to bring with them to Reading class, their planners, their blue dot books, and a writing utensil.
*We have Reading textbooks which will be read and studied exclusively in class through direct instruction, guided reading, and independent comprehension. The students should be able to always leave their Reading textbooks in the classroom.
Additional Notes:
*Please continue to encourage your child to earn his or her AR points throughout the term, as participation in special activities including movie days and the end of the year party are contingent on the attainment of the AR point goal.
*The final day to earn AR points for term 4 is Monday, May 17th. All AR points must be earned by 4:00pm, on this date.
*If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me or any of our team members.
